Eligibility
Who can buy tickets?
Anyone aged 18 or older who is physically located in Ontario at the time of purchase. You do not need to live in Mattawa.
Can I buy tickets from outside Ontario?
No. Our AGCO licence only allows sales to people who are in Ontario when they buy. Purchases made from outside the province are void.
Can I buy a ticket for someone else or as a gift?
No. Tickets must be purchased in your own name and cannot be transferred.
Who is not allowed to participate?
Hospital board members, the raffle's members-in-charge, staff directly involved in running the raffle, employees of the raffle system supplier, people living in their households, and anyone who has self-excluded from gaming in Ontario. See section 3 of the Rules of Play.
Tickets and payment
How much are tickets?
How do I pay?
Online payment for raffle ticket purchases. Payments are handled by a secure third-party processor; the hospital does not store your full card number.
How do I receive my ticket numbers?
They are emailed to the address you enter at checkout, usually within minutes. Check your spam folder if you do not see the email. Keep it — it is your proof of purchase.
Can I get a refund?
No. All sales are final and tickets are non-refundable, except where required by law or AGCO rules.
When do sales close?
Sales for the current draw close on the published closing date. Purchases after that time are not entered.
The draw and the prize
How big is the jackpot?
The jackpot is 50% of all ticket sales for the draw. It grows as tickets are sold and is only final when sales close. The number on the Home page is the current running total, not a fixed prize.
When and where is the draw?
On the draw date at the draw time, at the hospital. One winning ticket is selected at random using an AGCO-approved random number generator.
How will I know if I won?
The winning number is posted on the Winners page on draw day, and we contact the winner by email and phone.
How do I claim my prize?
Contact the hospital within six months of the draw and show valid government-issued photo ID confirming your age and Ontario address. The prize is paid by cheque or electronic transfer after verification.
Does buying more tickets guarantee a win?
No. More tickets mean more numbers in the draw, but there is no guarantee. Please play within your means — see Responsible Gambling.
About the fundraiser
Where does the money go?
Half of every draw's sales goes to the winner. The other half goes to Hôpital de Mattawa Hospital for priority medical equipment for Hôpital de Mattawa Hospital. Read more on About Us.
Is this raffle licensed?
Yes. It is conducted under Raffle licence RAF1383227 issued by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
Will I get a tax receipt?
No. Raffle ticket purchases are not donations and are not eligible for charitable tax receipts under Canadian tax rules.
