A raffle, played for the right reasons

The Mattawa Hospital 50/50 is a charitable fundraiser run by Hôpital de Mattawa Hospital. Buying a ticket is a way to support local health care with a chance to win — not a way to make money. The prize is a share of sales, it is never guaranteed, and the odds depend on how many tickets are sold.

Our commitments

• Age limit: tickets are sold only to people aged 18 or older.
• Location: you must be physically located in Ontario at the time of purchase.
• Honest messaging: we never promise a win, exaggerate the odds, or present the jackpot as a fixed amount.
• Clear rules: eligibility, prices, dates and prize claim are published in full in the Rules of Play.
• Licensed and regulated: the raffle is conducted under Raffle licence RAF1383227 from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).

Tips for keeping it fun

• Decide in advance how much you want to give, and treat it as a donation.
• Buy only what you can comfortably afford. More tickets do not guarantee a win.
• Do not try to win back money you have spent.
• Do not buy tickets when you are upset, stressed or under the influence.
• Take a break if playing stops feeling like fun.

Signs it may be a problem

Spending more than you planned, borrowing money to play, hiding purchases from family, or feeling anxious or irritable when not playing can all be signs that gambling is no longer under control.
